LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — NASCAR’s Joey Logano and NHRA’s Melanie Troxel were both winners during the fifth annual Lucas Oil Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge Sunday at the Lake Placid Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Track.
Logano defeated Troxel in the second of two races Sunday afternoon, which pitted the fastest NASCAR representative against the fastest from NHRA. Logano’s run of 49.81 seconds edged Troxel’s 50.08-second run.
Earlier in the day, Troxell took top honors over the event’s 10 participants when her two runs equaled a combined time of 1 minute, 39.33 seconds, allowing her to edge NHRA Pro Stock racer Jeg Coughlin, who checked in at 1:39.40, for top honors.
NASCAR’s Boris Said recorded the fastest single run of any competitor Sunday, a 49.21-second pass on his first run of the day.
