Arpin Enjoying Global Rallycross Challenge

As one might expect Arpin faced a bit of a learning curve during his transition to Red Bull Global Rallycross. In nine starts in 2013, Arpin earned a best finish of fourth, ranking eighth overall in the standings.

“As far as the transition goes, there have been good times and bad times,” Arpin said. “There have definitely been some growing pains, but we’ve been able to push through. We’re starting to get the results that we’re looking for. It has been a learning experience and it will continue to be.”

Arpin said that his past experience on both dirt and asphalt — both of which Red Bull Global Rallycross competes on — has helped him make that learning curve smaller during his second Red Bull Global Rallycross season.

“Pretty much everything you race you can use that experience elsewhere,” Arpin explained. “The snowmobile racing for example, it is the same kind of start (standing start). When the flag waves, you go. It’s a mad dash to the first corner, so that applies.

“One of my strongest suits at pretty much every track that we’ve been at is the dirt sections of the Rallycross tracks. That is clearly from my dirt racing background.”
