Speed Lands X Games GRC Ride
INDIANAPOLIS — Scott Speed will drive the DRR-SH Global Rallycross entry in the X Games Los Angeles.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the X Games Los Angeles. Running with DRR-SH Global Rallycross will definitely give me a chance at another Gold Medal,” stated Speed, who won earlier this season in Brazil “GRC has been a lot of fun so far and I am looking forward to being able to run an X Games at home in the USA.”
Speed’s motorsports career started in Karting at the age of 10. By the age of 19, he had moved to Europe and was working his way up the Formula One ladder. Speed became the first American in Formula One since Michael Andretti in 1993, competing in 28 races. In 2008, he transitioned into stock-car racing and currently runs in NASCAR for Leavine Family Racing.
“Scott is absolutely the perfect fit for our entry,” said DRR-SH Global Rallycross co-owner Robbie Buhl. “He is hungry for victories, which he proved by winning his first X Games event in Brazil. Coming from Formula One and most recently NASCAR, he has a huge following and will be a great asset to our team.”
DRR-SH Global Rallycross co-owner James “Sulli” Sullivan was also on hand for comment. “Where we come from, anytime our car is in the air, in the dirt, or sideways, none of us are smiling, so next weekend is a new ballgame. I’m pumped to have Speed leading our charge into the X Games,” said Sulli.
WIX Filters and N.O.-XPLODE were recently announced as the primary partners of Speed’s DRR-SH Global Rallycross car.
