Bad Tire Can’t Stop Hebert In Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Shane Hebert survived a last-lap scramble to win Friday’s preliminary limited modified feature during the South Texas Shootout at South Texas Speedway.

Hebert looked like he had the race won until his right-rear tire failed as he came to the white flag, allowing Steve Whiteaker, Sr. and Paul White to pass. Then, as the leaders entered turn three, Whiteaker and White made contact and spun, allowing Hebert to limp by for the triumph.

Danny Hebert was scored second at the quarter-mile dirt oval ahead of Whiteaker, Randy Timms and Sean Jones.
