Babb Stars At Langley Oval

HAMPTON, Va. — Robbie Babb started on the pole, at 88.598 mph, and stormed to his ninth win in the 50-lap KeesVacations.com Modified feature, leading all the way at Langley Speedway.

Jimmy Humblet shared the front row with Babb and provided a test for the leader in the early going. A blown engine on lap 13 derailed Humblet’s effort, though, leaving him with a 12th-place finish. Chris Johnson tailed Babb to the checkers, in second. Anthony Kincaid, Matt Slye and Lauren Edgerton rounded out the top five.

Mark Claar moved out front on lap 15 and rolled to his third straight victory in a 40-lapper for the Pepsi Grand Stocks. Pole starter Brandon Hinson was second, half a straightaway back, followed by Ricky Derrick, who took sole possession of the division points lead. Ritchie German came home in fourth, while Andrew Condrey fought through a last-lap melee in Turn 3 to take fifth.

Robbie Davis sailed to his eighth win in a caution-free 25-lapper for the Larry King Law Super Trucks. Chase McAdams was the runner-up, more than half a straightaway back. Bill Wallace, Evan VanLeeuwen and Colby Vance completed the top five.
