Babicek Ends Long Penn Can Losing Streak

SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – Penn Can Speedway rolled the dice Friday trying to beat Mother Nature and won.

With rain forecast all around speedway officials decided to give racing a shot Friday and ran a very efficient program getting four of the six features in the books before the heavy rain hit the speedway.

Local favorite Steve Babicek held off a strong field to claim his first modified victory since 2008, out running Mike Nagel Jr. and Kevin Hartnett to secure the trophy.

Butch Green came home the winner in a very exciting 602 Sportsman feature while Steve Deinhardt won his second feature of the season.

Nick Mady made it two in a row in the Xcel 600 Modifieds. The four cylinders and factory stocks will run double features next Friday.
