Daniels, Shaw, Dehart Score At Path Valley
SPRING RUN, Pa. — Tony Daniels (street-stock), Chase Shaw (4-cylinder thunder car) and Gary Dehart (mini-stock) picked up victories Friday night at Path Valley Speedway.
Dehart started second in the mini-stock feature and powered around Jodie Varner for the lead at the start. Eric Seibert stayed within a car length of Dehart for the first 15 laps before Seibert fell to fourth when Ronnie Garlock and Ryan Laye slipped by.
Dehart was never challenged in the final five laps, pulling away to earn the victory over Laye in second.
In the 4-cylinder thunder car feature Justin Rasp started on the pole and pulled out to a big lead before his engine shut off on lap five. That gave Tony Hampton the lead as Chase Shaw made his way through the field.
Shaw soon was all over Hampton, bumping him several times before finally taking the lead down the backstretch. Hampton, unhappy with Shaw, punted Shaw in turn three and spun him out. Hampton was sent to the rear of the field for the contact while Shaw was put back in the lead.
With his biggest challenger now at the rear of the field, Shaw was able to pull away to victory.
The street-stock feature was a two-car battle from the start. Tony Daniels started first, but went high in turn two and that allowed Ken Singer to drive underneath him and into the lead.
Singer bobbled in turn two and Daniels regained the lead on lap four. They stayed that way until Singer made a move on lap 18, making contact with Daniels and nearly spinning out. Singer regained control of his car, but by then Daniels was long gone and easily picked up the victory.
