Horton Hustles To Bridgeport Score

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. — On day one of Bridgeport Speedway’s Wild Card Weekend, Jimmy Horton gained the win in the small-block modified race.

Horton paced the field for the entire distance to gain the win. After the original start was marred by a multi-car accident, Horton outdueled polesitter Kyle Borror to gain the lead. By the second circuit, Duane Howard was in the runner up position. Throughout the second half of the contest, Howard was glued on Horton’s bumper. Horton, driving the Dieter Schmidt-owned modified, held on for the victory by repelling several challenges from Howard in the final laps.

With Howard finishing in second, Billy Pauch came home in third. Fourth went to Ryan Watt. Stewart Friesen, who was involved in the original start mishap, recovered to finish in fifth.

The fourth round of Black Flagged Racing’s Outlaw Stock Car Shoot-Out Series was won by Rich Reider. Eddie Wagner took top honors in the TSRS Sprint Car main event.
