Reed, Blewett Split Wall Accolades

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Steven Reed and Jimmy Blewett shared the spotlight at Wall Stadium Saturday night by each taking a victory in “Twin 35 lap main events for Modified stock cars. It was the second win of the season for each driver.

In the first modified main event Shaun Carrig jumped to the lead at the outset while fast time trailer Reed headed to the front. Early on Reed dove to the inside lane to take the top spot while Blewett and Anthony Sesely headed for second and third.

Before 10 laps were in the books it was Reed, Blewett and Sesely running in the top three. This trio then battled the remaining laps to complete the top three, while Chas Okerson and Carrig completed the top five.

In the second modified main Carrig again rocketed to the lead in the outside lane at the initial green flag and held his ground until Sesely took over with five laps down. Blewett and Ken Woolley, Jr. were flying in this race as they took over second and third spots with 12 laps in the books.

With 16 laps complete Blewett dove to the inside lane to steal away the lead, but Woolley was glued to his bumper. From that point on Blewett held off Woolley for the win, while Reed, Sesely, and Okerson rounded out the top five finishers.

In the companion 30-lapper for the Sportsman cars, Eric Mauriello came from 12th on the grid to take the lead from pacesetter Elliott Wohl with just five laps remaining.
