At the midway point of the race, the yellow flew, bunching up the field behind Stoudt. On the restart, Stoudt continued to set the pace with the battle for third continuing where it left off. With 10 laps to go, Wampler and Billet closed in on Murphy to make a three car battle for the runner-up spot.
