Grove Opens Saturday Shows April 20

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series will begin its racing season on Saturday, April 20. The Super Sportsman, 358 Late Models, and Street Stocks will compete.

The Williams Grove Saturday Night Series is coming off a very successful 2012 campaign. In a season that set several attendance records, the series continues to be home for family-style racing.

Family-first -– that philosophy will continue this year. Speedway management announced that the five-dollar admission would remain for 2013. All adults will pay just five dollars to see a full evening of automobile racing. Children 12 and under enter the speedway grounds free.

The popular Meet and Greet will be back. The event began last season and was very popular with fans and race teams. At 5:30, several race teams will bring their cars to the infield area to meet the fans. Race fans will have a chance to meet the drivers and see the racing equipment. The Meet and Greet will begin with the second show.

The Super Sportsman began their season March 29, with a show at Williams Grove Speedway. A strong field of 40 cars, including six rookies, was in action. Almost 60 cars are on the roster.

Lincoln Speedway presented the first 358 Late Model race. Gene Knaub won the show, indicating he will once again be the driver to beat.

The Street Stocks have not been in competition. Last year the Williams Grove Street Stocks presented weekly competitive shows, featuring close battles for the win.

Williams Grove Speedway continues to be the regional home of Super Sportsman and Stock Car Saturday Nights. Williams Grove management is looking forward to increasing the racing experience for families. The shows also offer race teams a chance to present their sponsors to a growing form of racing.

All shows will begin with warm-ups at six and racing starts at 6:30.
