Crapser Sails To Eagle Valley Payday
JIM FALLS, Wis. – Cory Crapser went home $1,000 dollars richer as a result of his win in his WISSOTA/Amsoil Midwest Modified division at Eagle Valley Speedway.
The race, slated to pay $750 originally, grew to a $1,000 payout due to the generosity of other contributors throughout the race evening.
Grant Southworth and Cory Crapser showed the way during the initial start of the Midwest Modified feature. Crapser was the early leader, leading the first two laps as Southworth ran second.
During lap three things would change as Southworth went low and Crapser went high and Southworth shot to the lead.
With five laps of the 20-lap feature completed, it was Southworth still in the lead followed closely by Crapser.
These two cars waged a great battle for several more laps, but Crapser would soon have enough of running second and by the end of lap six, Crapser had reclaimed the top spot.
With 10 laps in the books, Crapser had extended his lead to five car lengths as Southworth ran second followed by Kerry Halopka, Justin Oestreich and Nick Koehler.
Two successive cautions after lap 12 resulted in the loss of the cars of Jake Stai and Mark Clements.
When racing resumed, Crapser once again shot to the lead. By the end of lap 15, Crapser had once again put himself at a five car advantage over Southworth with Ryan Viltz in third, Koehler in fourth and Oestreich in fifth.
When the checkered flag flew, Crapser was a thousand dollars the richer in his Car Quest Auto sponsored car picking up his twenty-third win of the year. Southworth had to settle for second followed by Viltz, Koehler and Oestreich.
Other winners at Eagle Valley Sunday included Kevin Adams (modifieds), Shane Kisling (super stocks), Cody Kummer (street stocks), George Richards (pure stocks) and Rocky Kempe (hornets).
