Ian Madsen Joins New Sprint Car Team
KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Ian Madsen has partnered with sprint-car newcomer Bret Nehring for the 2013 racing season at Knoxville Raceway.
Nehring, owner of Nehring Construction, will field the No. 18 entry for Madsen. Veteran mechanic Matt Barbara will run the team and act as manager. The Kustom Concrete Pumping Racing (KCP Racing) team will be based out of Knoxville, Iowa, will run KPC Chassis with Rider Racing Engines and Factory Kahne Shocks. Initial support will also come from Nehring Construction as well as Kustom Concrete Pumping.
“I’m pumped up with finalizing a deal to compete weekly at the Knoxville Raceway in 2013,” Madsen said.
The initial plans have the KCP Racing team competing weekly at the Knoxville Raceway in the 410 sprint-car ranks as well as running select World of Outlaw shows in the surrounding areas and the Knoxville Nationals in August.
“The Australian season has been a good one thus far, and I’m hoping it carries over in the U.S.,” Madsen said. “We have a solid group of guys, and I’m hoping we can get Bret (Nehring) some strong results during his first year in the sport.”
