McCown Purchases Atomic Speedway

WAVERLY, Ohio — Atomic Speedway has a new owner.

Brad McCown, who is the owner and promoter of Jackson County Speedway in Ohio, has completed the purchase of the three-eighths-mile dirt track near Chillicothe, Ohio, that has previously operated as K-C Raceway and Atomic Speedway.

“When I started getting serious about this all that I heard was that people wanted to see sprint cars and we had to call it the Atomic once again,” McCown said. “Well, we are going to give them both.”

McCown hopes to run sprint cars, late models, street stocks, modifieds and sport mods at Atomic Speedway with a few races to be scheduled for later this year with the track racing on Saturday nights.
