Simpson Shines At Lucas Oil

WHEATLAND, Mo. — As unseasonably warm temperatures greeted race fans making their way to the Lucas Oil Speedway for the first time in 2011, the action on the track was even hotter as Chad Simpson topped a huge 55 car Lucas Oil MLRA field en route to his second career MLRA win.

In the Pitt’s modifieds, Mark Dotson drove his bright blue No. 85d GRT by Phillips Chassis to a convincing win over former Lucas Oil Speedway Track Champion Jamie Ragland.

With Simpson holding the field at bay working lap traffic, Jesse Stovall made his way up to the second spot at the finish in his Steve Rushin owned Larry Shaw Race Car. Brandon McCormick led the way for the GRT’s coming across the AAA Start/Finish line in the third spot at the finish followed by Team Custard, Jeremy Payne and Terry Phillips in fourth and fifth, respectively.
