Canaan Fair Speedway To Close

CANAAN, N.H. – This Saturday night will mark the final night of racing in the history of Canaan Fair Speedway as the track has been sold to a new owner who has no plans of operating the track in 2014 or beyond.

‚ÄúThis Saturday night we will say a tearful good-bye to friends, racers and crews, fans, sponsors and a race track we all love,” said General Manager, Dick Therrien in a statement on the track website. “We have all worked so hard to make this into a show place for auto racing here in the Northeast and this is home. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and sadly, this is the last race in the history on the asphalt here at Canaan..”

The final race in the history of the track will be sponsored by Newport Chevrolet and will feature a $1,000 to win, 100-lap late-model event.
