Hearn Hustles At Albany-Saratoga
MALTA, N.Y. — Already the leading feature winner at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway, modified superstar Brett Hearn raised his total yet again Friday night.
His second consecutive win came at the expense of Mark Kislowski, who inherited the lead on lap 18 when Neil Stratton dropped out and held forth through lap 25, when Hearn blew it into turn three so hard that the front-end bounced before blasting off turn four with the lead.
Caution flew right after the fourth-starting Kislowski got the lead, putting Donnie Corellis and Kenny Tremont Jr. on his bumper for the restart. Tremont got to second in two laps and repeatedly got alongside Kislowski before another yellow on lap 20 brought the 35-lap event’s final restart. Tremont hit the first turn too hard, got over the edge and dropped two spots before recovering.
Hearn, who went over the lip of the same turn on lap six after advancing a handful of positions from this 13th-place start, had fought his way back to the front by then and shot under Tremont to show second. Five laps later he took the lead and ran off from his pursuers.
Kislowski held on for second ahead of Matt DeLorenzo, Tremont, Ronnie Johnson, Corellis, Dustin Delaney, Mike Perrotte, Todd Stone and Jason Herrington.
Rob Yetman led the pro stock field flag to flag for his first win of the year while high school senior Bobby Hackel IV claimed his second consecutive sportsman feature.
