Stoehr Beats The Rain At Waterford

WATERFORD, Conn. — Mother Nature interfered with Waterford Speedbowl’s Finale Weekend Sunday afternoon after just two of the scheduled six races were completed.

The visiting Northeastern Midget Ass’n midgets and INEX Legend Cars races were finished before the rain began to fall.

Scoring the two race victories were Russ Stoehr in the 25-lap NEMA feature and Dave Garbo Jr. in the Legend Cars.

Stoehr beat Randy Cabral to the checkered flag in the midget race with John Zych, Mike Horn and Bethany Stoehr completing the top five.

The scheduled 50-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Mini Stock feature was halted after 22 laps due to wet weather. The remainder of that race, along with the rest of the scheduled races, were postponed until Oct. 27.
