Third-Generation Flach Breaks Through

WEST LEBANON, N.Y. — J.C. Flach, son and grandson of former Lebanon Valley Speedway modified champions John Flach Jr. and John Flach, parleyed a front row starting spot and a non-stop feature into a win in Saturday night’s 30-lap feature on the famed high banks.

It took Flach four laps to shoot down front-row companion Mike King, with Steve Hough and Kenny Tremont Jr., up from fifth, settling into a race-long battle behind him for the second spot after edging King on lap seven. They ran side by side until lap 26, with the inside hugging Tremont finally overcoming Hough’s momentum off the banking to get up in front of him on lap 26.

Tremont closed rapidly on the leader, who had a full straightaway lead at the time, but came up four car lengths short at the checkers. Hough was third ahead of Brian Berger, Kyle Armstrong, 16th-starting Brett Hearn, Donnie Corellis, Colby Schroeder and Eddie Marshall.

Jason Casey prevailed in a terrific pro stock feature with Steve Mayer home first in the sportsman finale.
