Wight Strikes Back At Brewerton
BREWERTON, N.Y. — One week ago at the Brewerton Speedway, Larry Wight felt the old TV show Wide World Of Sports saying, “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.”
On July, 28th, Wight came within 7 laps of his second career 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified victory, only to get tangled up with a car he was trying to lap, ending his shot at the win.
Friday night, undaunted and on a mission, Larry Wight took the lead on a restart on lap 19 and held off challenges from Steve Hulsizer and a furious last three laps charge from point leader Jimmy Phelps for the popular victory.
Other winners on Ingles Performance, Maple View Garage Night were, Kevan Cook, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Tim Devendorf, Beaver River Distribution Mod Lites and Chuck Powelczyk Anchor Bar & Grill Four Cylinder Super Stocks. The Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club were also in competition with Alley Amell, Norm Richardson and Steve Healey picking up class wins.
