WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Mark Ith Jr. took home the Maverik Modifieds’ top spot on Saturday at Utah’s Rocky Mountain Raceways.

Ith edged ahead for the lead after starting in the ninth position. Throughout the remainder of the 50-lap main, Ith had Nick Parker and defending champion Tyler Whetstone right on his bumper. Parker and Whetstone went head-to-head several times, but Parker came out ahead with a second-place finish. Whetstone finished in a close third, Lynn Hardy came in fourth, and Barry Egolf came in fifth. Ith also picked up the fast qualifying time.

Tim Fahrner won the first Comcast Super Stock race of the 2014 season. After securing the lead on lap six, Fahrner seemed to check out with a significant lead. With 10 laps to go, a caution brought the field together, but Fahrner continued his lead on the restart. Al Jones came in second, Cale Perkins came in third, #19 James Ford fourth, and Corey Walker finished fifth.

In addition to the RMR Oval Racing Series, Rocky Mountain Raceways hosted a Legends Regional Qualifier. Brecken Snow secured the win after a spirited battle for position with Randy Schaaf. Schaaf finished second, Zach Blume wound up third, Zachary Witherwax in fourth, and Camron Madsen rounded out the top five.
