KNOXVILLE, Iowa — Bronson Maeschen took top honors in Saturday night’s racing program at Knoxville Raceway.
Maeschen started outside the front row for the 410 sprint car feature and took the early lead with polesitter Davey Heskin chasing throughout.
Heskin took the lead on a restart with 13 tours of the half-mile track remaining, but Maeschen wasn’t finished.
He used a restart with eight laps to go, to storm around Heskin and retake the lead. Maeschen held off Heskin on a restart with five laps to go and rolled to victory, while Dusty Zomer stole second from Heskin in the closing laps. Heskin, Mark Dobmeier and Terry McCarl completed the top five.
Kaley Gharst held off Clint Garner to win the 360 sprint car feature and Mike Van Haaften won the 305 main event.
