Morton Hits The Jackpot In Montana
KALISPELL, Mont. – A one-day rain delay couldn’t dampen Bodie Morton’s spirits as he drove to victory in the 125-lap late-model feature at Montana Raceway Park Sunday.
Chris Skelton and Braedon Havens started on the front row. David Garber moved to second and challenged Skelton for 18 laps, taking the lead on lap 19. Morton overtook Skelton and claimed second place on lap 65 before setting his sights on Garber.
With 25 laps to go Garber’s throttle stuck open, causing him to slam into the turn three retaining wall. Garber emerged from the car shaken, but unhurt.
Morton inherited the lead and finished the 125 laps in first place, followed by Wolfe in second and Skelton in third.
Casey Brandt (hobby stocks) and Chris Warburton (flathead beacon bombers) were also winners Sunday.
