Pierre Rocks His Way To RMR Win

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Johnny Pierre secured the ASA Pro Truck win at Rocky Mountain Raceways on Saturday, but it wasn’t an easy win for Pierre, the defending series champion.

Starting in the 15th position, Pierre systematically maneuvered to the head of the field. By lap 36, Pierre met Dan Doan running in second and Jerry Bailey running in first. He battled Bailey for position and came out ahead after a caution on lap 48. Bailey finished in second, Drew Reitsma in third, Mason Newhouse in fourth, and Alan Larson rounded out the top five. Pierre also secured the fastest qualifying time.

2013 Hornet Champion David Baity also found success on Saturday night, setting a new track record with a time of 29.308. Baity finished first in his heat and second in the Hornet main. Justin Coburn took first place in the Hornet main.

Jimmy Waters, defending Winged Sprint Champion, claimed the Winged Sprint Main Event win over Ryan Burdett in second, and Monty Bergener in third. Additional winners included Donny Sevey (Mini Cups) and Corey Walker (Figure-8 Cars),
