Utter Pockets $10,000 At West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – Jason Utter from nearby Columbus Junction, Iowa, ran down a streaking Chad Simpson and held off World 100 champion Brian Birkhofer to win the biggest race of his career Tuesday night at West Liberty Raceway during the Tornado Tuesday Open Late Model Shootout.

It was emotional in victory lane for Utter with family and friends surrounding the talented driver. The victory at the half-mile dirt oval was worth $10,000.

Birkhofer held on for second with Don O’Neal in the Larry Moring Motorsports No. 1 claiming third. Simpson stayed strong and finished fourth and Dave Eckrich finished fifth.
