Crash Claims 15-Year-Old Rookie At BRP

OCALA, Fla. — Fifteen-year-old female racer Niokoa Johnson was killed Saturday night following a crash at Bubba Raceway Park.

Johnson was on track during time trials in her Nissan Sentra when she reportedly lost control of her car and crashed head-on into a concrete barrier. She was unconscious when removed from the car and transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

After her condition was stabilized she was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville for surgery, but she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

Saturday was Johnson’s first time on track at Bubba Raceway Park, a three-eighths-mile dirt track.
