Morgan, Whitener Star At East Bay

GIBSONTON, Fla. — Brian Morgan claimed victory on night two of the third annual World Street Stock Championship at East Bay Raceway Park.

Morgan took the lead on lap 14 of the third-mile dirt track when defending race champion Tim Powers slowed with a broken transmission.

Morgan led the remainder of the 25-lap race to earn his first victory at East Bay. Dennis Wilson, Jr., Jarod Gay, Scotty Kay, Jr. and Thomas Burnside rounded out the top five.

Florida’s Mark Whitener won the Fastrak late model race, which shared the card with the street stocks. It was Whitener’s second victory in as many nights.
