Stremme Gets Dirt Track Win

GASTONIA, N.C. – NASCAR driver David Stremme earned his first career dirt track win Friday night at Carolina Speedway.

After swapping the lead with pole sitter Taylor Cook on lap one of the Stock Car Steel/SRI UMP Modified feature, Stremme went on to lead the rest of the way in night one of the 14th annual Skyler Trull Memorial.

Cook, Rob McLaughlin, Derrick Ramey and Jamie Major rounded out the top five.

Josh Langley scored the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade win in a hard fought battle over Bryan Mullis. Paul Irby finished third with Brandy Baker and Kyle Norwood rounding out the top five.

In the Q2U BBQ Pit four cylinder feature it was Jerry Oliver taking the win followed by Layton Sullivan, Bradley Weaver, Wayne Curtis and Brandon Blair completing the top five.

In the Hornets feature Casey Shane went to victory lane. Scott Cloninger came home second, followed by Christopher Meadows, Tyler Bennett and David Creighton.

The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series makes its 2014 debut Saturday as part of the annual Skyler Trull Memorial. Also on the card is a SECA Late Model event a UMP Modified event and a Domino’s Pizza Street Stock feature.
