Yarbrough Back To Form In Myrtle Beach
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Former Myrtle Beach Speedway track champion Sam Yarbrough returned to form by earning his first victory since 2009 in the late-model division Saturday evening.
Anthony Anders took the lead at the start with Yarbrough giving chase early on. The two ran side-by-side for several laps before Yarbrough finally cleared him for the lead in turn three.
Driving a car owned by former NASCAR driver Chad McCumbee, Yarbrough was never challenged for the rest of the night as he cruised to victory.
“The car was a bit loose but was fast and once I got the lead it was a matter of being smooth,” said Yarbrough.
Second place went to Justin Milliken, who added to his point lead for the track championship in the late-model class at Myrtle Beach.
Mark Hale won the companion charger feature.
