14 Nights Of Action At Stockton In 2014

STOCKTON, Calif. – The new Stockton 99 Speedway has unveiled its 2014 slate of events that encompasses 14 nights of competitive racing action on the asphalt oval, with various highlights being a return of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, the Tri-Holiday shows featuring the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and the season ending sixth annual Fall Classic.

One of the major cornerstone events once again for the Stockton 99 Speedway will be on Saturday, May 3 when the traveling NASCAR K&N Pro Series West hits the track. The series is set to compete in 14 events this coming season in seven different states.

Last year’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event at the Stockton 99 Speedway was captured by eventual West champion Derek Thorn over Sergio Pena, Cameron Haley, Luis Tyrell and Eric Holmes in the top-five. The series saw one of the closest point battles in its history, as Thorn claimed the title by just six-points over Hayley at season’s end. The event at 99 Speedway will be the third round of competition for the K&N Series, which competes in Phoenix, Arizona and Irwindale, Calif., prior to invading the Stockton quarter-mile.

The special Tri-Holiday Series returns once again to the Stockton 99 Speedway, with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in action on Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. The dates are May 24, July 5 and Aug. 30. Last year’s Tri-Holiday champs included Scott Winters in the Grand American Modifieds, Matt Scott in the Western Late Models, Ben Lewis in the Pure Stocks, Chad Holman in the Super Stocks and Mark Jacke in B4’s.

Including the Tri-Holiday Series there will be 12 events featuring the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the track, which kicks off on Saturday, April 5 & closes on Sept. 13. The season ending sixth annual “Fall Classic” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4 and this year will include the Watermelon Bash, along with Western Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks & B-4’s. Reigning champions at the Stockton 99 Speedway include Grand American Modified titlist Jason Philpot, Western Late Model champion Matt Scott, Jason Aguirre in the Super Stocks, Ben Lewis II in Pure Stocks, Brad Mast in the 4-Cylinders and Gabriel Herzog in the Mini Cups.

Other highlights on the schedule for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series include the annual “Johnny Brazil Night” on Saturday, Aug. 16 and “Kids Night” on Saturday, June 14. The traveling BCRA Midgets will tackle the Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday, April 12.

The Rusty Wallace Driving Experience will have a heavy presence this season at the Stockton 99 Speedway with the fan favorite featuring six visits to the track this season. Those will occur on Feb. 15-17, Feb. 22-23, March 15-17, March 29-30, April 25-27 and May 30-June 1. Drifting can also be seen at the track on four occasions during the coming season with Golden Gate Drift happening on March 1-2, April 19, July 26-27 and Sept. 27-28. Last season’s Golden Gate Drift championship was grabbed by Chris Mills.

On Friday, March 28 the Stockton 99 Speedway will hold an open practice from 1pm until dark.

The 7th Annual Stockton 99 Speedway Swap Meet takes place on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Stockton 99 Speedway located at 4105 N. Wilson Way, Stockton, California 95205. It’s a Hot Rod, Race Car & Antique Collectibles Swap Meet also featuring a race car and hot rod car show. Pre-registration deadline is Feb. 5, 2014 – $10 extra per space day of event.

The Stockton 99 Speedway will also be taking part in a special event on Sunday, March 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Pacific Ave Bowl in Stockton located at 5939 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95207. Race cars and officials from the speedway will be on hand to help promote the Stockton 99 Speedway, Little 99 and the Stockton Dirt Track.
