BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A red hot night at Kern County Raceway Park on JACK FM Night yielded big wins for David Mayhew and Neil Conrad on the half-mile and Donny St. Ours and Tyler Bannister on the quarter-mile.

St. Ours’ win came in an INEX Legends feature with five lead changes and four different leaders.

The 15 car INEX Legends main event was a 35 lap contest led by Claremont’s Ricky Schlick. Outside polesitter Jonathan St. Ours was shuffled back to fifth at the start. Points leader Buddy Shepherd assumed the lead on lap four with Schlick getting bounced to fourth place.

Opening night $1,000 winner Brent Scheidmantle took over the lead from laps seven through 11, and then lost the lead to the hard-charging Donny St. Ours. After several small cautions for spins, the caution came out on lap 14 when Jonathan St. Ours lost the entire right front body work on his No. 16 ride.

A three-wide duel on the restart cost Racin Vernon as he had to be towed off the race track, and Dallas Montes was spun as well.

Schedimantle hounded St. Ours and took the lead back on lap 20, but St. Ours stayed in tow. On lap 26, Donny St. Ours took the lead back for good as he cruised to a .364 second win over Scheidmantle. Jonathan St. Ours made repairs and came back through the field for third ahead of Schlick and Shepherd. Montes drove through the field to finish sixth.

“(Brent and I) have been racing for seven-eight years,” Donny St. Ours said. “In the long run my car was better than his and the Legend series is such a great series!”

David Mayhew won his fourth NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Model main and his fifth race overall at Kern County Raceway Park when he led 38 laps for the victory. The 50 lap race went caution free and was led from the outside pole by Irwindale points leader Ryan Partridge.
