SEBRING, Fla. — Forsythe Championship Racing driver James Hinchcliffe proved fastest over both days of Champ Car Atlantic Championship Series testing this past week at Sebring Int’l Raceway.
On the second day of the practice sessions on Wednesday, Hinchcliffe paced the field with a lap of 57.336 seconds (104.738 miles per hour) over the 1.669-mile circuit. Hinchliffe edged teammate David Garza for the top spot before making contact with a barrier on turn three to end his day.
“It was an interesting day for us,” said Hinchcliffe, who is entering his third season of Champ Car Atlantic competition. “It’s great to end up on top again. We were able to improve our time from yesterday where a few other guys weren’t, so I think we managed to make a good car even better.”
A day earlier, Hinchcliffe was quickest with a lap of 57.449 seconds (104.587 mph), a tick faster than Sierra Sierra Enterprises driver Jonathan Bomarito (57.542 seconds, 104.418 mph) and Garza (57.860 seconds, 103.844 mph).
