CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Eddie Carrier, Jr. raced into the lead on lap 31 and withstood the challenges of Scott Bloomquist to win the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Glockner 50 Saturday night at K-C Raceway.
In a race slowed by 12 cautions, the fight for the lead lasted all 50 laps, as Carrier pocketed $10,000 for himself and car owner Carl Grover, with Speed television crews taping the event.
Carrier, who started alongside Bloomquist on the front row, fell back to fourth, but charged into second on lap 30. One lap later, he overtook Bloomquist for the lead. The two drivers ran distinctive grooves over the final 20 laps running side by side on several occasions. But Carrier held off Bloomquist for the triumph.
