HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Hagerstown Speedway continued its racing tradition, kicking off its 61st season on Sunday.
Brett Hearn took the lead on lap two of the 30-lap modified event and remained unchallenged as the checkered flag waved. Ryan Godown lost the lead to Hearn, but held on to finish second. Rick Laubach finished third.
Joey Grammes started the event 24th but charged to a fourth-place finish.
Jeremiah Shingledecker also made a run through the field to fifth after starting in 18th.
J.T. Spence took the lead on lap two of the late-model race but narrowly escaped trouble just three laps from the finish.
Rick Eckert closed in on Spence with the help of lapped traffic. The two made contact, with Spence spinning and Eckert going on to victory. Roy Deese, Jr. and Josh Richards filled the top three.
