McGuire Sings Winning Bluegrass Note
Battle of the Bluegrass (BOB)
RICHMOND, Ky. — Josh McGuire took an early lead and led the field to the checkered flag at Richmond Raceway Saturday night, scoring his second-career victory in the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series for late models.
Pole-winner Bobby Wolter, Jr. pulled ahead briefly when the green flag waved, but lost the point to McGuire on lap five of the 40-lap event. McGuire pulled away by lap 13 and maneuvered lapped traffic to take home the $3,000 prize.
Mike Jewell followed in second after edging past Wolter on lap seven and managing to head off the challenges of third-finisher Eddie Carrier, Jr. in the final 10 laps. Defending series-champion Victor Lee and Michael Chilton rounded out the top five.
