Rain Washes Away Saturday Card

Friday

GIBSONTON, Fla. — Keith Nosbisch battled through lapped traffic to take the lead and win the 40-lap NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series event Friday night at East Bay Raceway Park.
Nosbisch took the lead from Doug Horton on lap 31, and held off a challenge from Horton with two laps to go to take the win on the one-third-mile dirt track.
Nosbisch and Horton battled side by side for the lead several times during the second half of the race in heavy lapped traffic, keeping the crowd on its feet.
“That was an exciting race. As I would catch Doug in lapped traffic and get the inside line, and then he would come back and do the same to me,” Nosbisch said. “Doug is a good driver, and I really enjoy racing like that with him side-by-side.”
Horton had to settle for second, with Larry Boutwell, Ryan Mitchell and Tony Payne rounding out the top five.
The finish:
Keith Nosbisch, Doug Horton, Larry Boutwell, Ryan Mitchell, Tony Payne, Chip Brindle, Chris Tays, Jeff Fields, Josh Peacock, Frank Ingram, Roger Crouse, Jack Nosbisch, Jr., Chris McElhenney, Chris Carlson, Jeff Smith, Dave Schmauss, Jason Hiett, Matthew Turner, Jimmy Waldrop, Eric Cooley, Jeff Matthews, Wallace Peacock, Jim Moon, Jay Blair.

Saturday

GIBSONTON, Fla. — Heavy rain on Saturday morning washed out what was to be two shows on Saturday for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series at East Bay Raceway Park.  Both the Saturday afternoon and Saturday night races have been cancelled and will not be made up.  Wet weather plagued the entire scheduled three-race series.
