TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Don Adams notched his second NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series season victory Saturday, leading all 40 laps to top the 24-car field at Tazewell Speedway.
Adams grabbed the lead from the outside front row and quickly opened up a comfortable margin, at times leading by a full straightaway as a four-way battle for second raged behind him.
Several caution flags slowed the event, including a final yellow on lap 35 that set up a five-lap shootout to the finish.
On the restart, Shon Flanary and Dustin Linville raced to the inside of Adams to make it a three-wide battle for the lead.
Adams roared back to the front, using the high side to pull out to a five-length advantage, easily beating out Flanary, who held off Linville to finish in the runner-up spot. Michael Asberry and Chad Ogle rounded out the top five.
