Dunn, Brown Early-Week Winners At Championship

Thursday

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Pro Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championships got off to a fast start Thursday night with Clyde Dunn, Jr. winning the 15-lap A-qualifier for modifieds on the first of three nights of racing at the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway.
Dunn took the lead from the start and led every lap, holding off Randy Timms, who started 18th, for the victory.
Paul White finished third, ahead of Chad Wheeler and Greg Skaggs, as 107 modifieds were on hand.
Chris Brown topped the limited-modified feature, with Keith White and Bo Bay rounding out the top three.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The second night of the Pro Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championships at Texas Motor Speedway had an increase in entries for Friday’s competition.
Chris Brown jumped out to take the lead on lap one but nobody had anything for him. His competitors had more than a racing battle on their hands through the night, first trying to get a handle on their machines. From competitor’s spins to broken suspensions, all played into Brown’s hands as he charged to the modified win. At the finish he had a straightaway lead over the second place car of Troy Taylor.
Taylor had success of his own that night also winning the limited-modified A-qualifier. In the closing laps Keith Green crept in, but was unable to pass Taylor off of turn four.
