HOHENWALD, Tenn. — T.J. Herndon claimed the USCS Modified Series win at Checkered Flag Speedway on Saturday night after taking advantage of a mid-race restart. Herndon trailed Ashley Newman on lap 18, jumping to the position at the drop of the green flag on the restart. Newman dropped to third at the finish after Bart Richardson slid by for second.
Tony Simmons and Danny Gentry finished the top five.
Ray Alexander finished sixth, claiming the Tennison Brothers, Inc. Metals Hard Charger award. Alexander started the event 18th.
