Krohn, Holzkamper Power Up For Double

West Siloam (Okla.) Speedway

Friday

WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — West Siloam Springs, Okla., is a long drive from Slayton, Minn., but defending O’Reilly USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn covered his fuel bill and then some with a $2,000 victory Friday night at West Siloam Speedway.
The fleet Gopher State farmer grabbed the lead at the drop of Ryne Staley’s green flag and led all 30 laps en route to his first main-event victory of the season.
Although Krohn scored a wire-to-wire win, he had to fend off the challenge of Randy Timms throughout most of the race.
Timms finished second, with Jason Hughes racing from 10th to take third. Tommy Weder, Jr. and Kelly Shryock rounded out the top five.
The finish:
Jason Krohn, Randy Timms, Jason Hughes, Tommy Weder, Jr., Kelly Shryock, Al Hejna, Brandon Kenny, Steve Holzkamper, William Gould, Jon Tesch, Eddie Martin, Zack VanderBeek, Rodney Sanders, Chad Wheeler, Johnny Bone, Jr., Dustin Boney, Bryan Rowland, Gary Langworthy, Jr., John Allen, Jay Noteboom, Trevor Latham, Billy Hooton, Curtis Allen, Jared Russell.

Saturday

WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — Steve Holzkamper had all the power he needed Saturday night to earn his second-career O’Reilly USMTS National Tour triumph, but his march to victory was delayed nearly two hours due to a power outage at West Siloam Speedway.
Just shortly before 8:30 p.m., all electrical power at the track was lost. The culprit turned out to be a faulty transformer located a few miles away. Southwest Power Company crews were able to fix the problem, and races were back underway after a two-hour delay in the darkness.
In the Holley A Main, Holzkamper stole the limelight as he led all 40 laps from the pole position to pick up the $3,000 top prize. For the second-straight night, Randy Timms was forced to settle for the runner-up paycheck but pocketed a weekend-high $3,500 for his efforts. Pole-sitter Kelly Shryock finished third ahead of Jon Tesch and rookie Brandon Kenny in the top five.
The finish:
Steve Holzkamper, Randy Timms, Kelly Shryock, Jon Tesch, Brandon Kenny, Jason Hughes, Eddie Martin, Rodney Sanders, Chad Wheeler, Jeremy Ross, Johnny Bone, Jr., Jason Krohn, John Allen, Tate Cole, Jay Noteboom, Justin Boney, Tommy Weder, Jr., Patrick Linn, Zack VanderBeek, Dustin Boney, Scott Green, Juston Fulton, Gary Langworthy, Jr., Al Hejna.
