ELBRIDGE, N.Y. — Jimmy Phelps and Gary Tomkins shared the winner’s circle after splitting Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series 50-lap features Labor Day Monday at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.
Phelps started on the pole for the opener and was challenged early by Alan Johnson and late by Billy Decker, who finished second. Point-leader Tim Fuller was third, ahead of Johnson and Vic Coffey.
After Phelps drew to invert the top 12 for round two, Tomkins started fifth and watched as polesitter Dale Planck and Matt Sheppard held the point for the first half of the race. Tomkins grabbed the point from Sheppard on lap 23 and held off a late charge from Fuller for the victory.
