PARRAMATTA CITY, Australia — Danny Lasoski continued gearing up for the 2008 Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season on Thursday night by winning at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway in Australia.
The 2001 World of Outlaws champion started on the pole in the 30-lap preliminary feature with a star-studded field in attendance.
Steve Kinser led the first three laps of the event, with Lasoski charging by him on the fourth circuit. From there, Lasoski, who won six times in World of Outlaws action in 2007, opened comfortable leads, enduring a red flag and one yellow. He used strong restarts each time to pull away on his way to the victory.
Donny Schatz, the two-time defending World of Outlaws champion, lined up 10th for the event and powered his way to a runner-up finish.
Kinser finished third, with Jason Meyers and Joey Saldana rounding out the top five.
