Buckwalter Dominates

Susquehanna Speedway Park, Newberrytown, Pa.

By Mark Kielblock

NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. — Steve Buckwalter picked up his 14th-career American Racing Drivers Club midget victory Saturday night at Susquehanna Speedway Park.
Buckwalter dominated the event driving his No. 0 midget to victory by more than a straightaway in the 20-lap event on the half-mile oval.
“The motor in this car is probably down 30 horsepower to some of the others here,” Buckwalter said. “We’ve just managed to get it really hooked up, and we just needed the kind of track we had tonight to take advantage of it.”
Heavy watering and a humid, overcast evening led to an extremely tacky surface that evidently suited Buckwalter’s setup perfectly.
While Buckwalter took the victory, Nick Wean finished second, ahead of Frank Polimeda, Tracy Readinger and Steve Lenig.
The finish:
Steve Buckwalter, Nick Wean, Frank Polimeda, Tracy Readinger, Steve Lenig, Randy Monroe, Jr., Brett Arndt, Eric Heydenreich, Ryan Smith, Bruce Buckwalter, A.J. Ernesto, Zack Martini, Stephanie Stevens, Carey Becker, P.J. Gargiulo, Dave Shirk, Steve Craig, Shane Penny, Chris Zrinski, Bobby Goerner, Brett Conkling, Lew Blair, Donnie Hoffman, Drew Heistand, Scott Zipp, Billy Pauch.
