NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. — Sprint-car pilot Dave Ely continued to stave off the American Racing Driver’s Club youth movement with his fourth midget victory of the season July 3 at Susquehanna Speedway Park.
As young guns Eric Heydenreich and Andy Martin battled for the lead, Ely charged from the rear of the field, finally reaching Heydenreich and passing him for the lead. Heydenreich returned to the lead on lap 18, only to have Ely move past him again on the penultimate circuit.
