Martin On A Mission At New Egypt
Aug. 16 @ New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway
NEW EGYPT, N.J. — Andy Martin had a score to settle with New Egypt Speedway, and he drove like it Saturday night.
He simply dominated the field, holding off a late-race charge by Billy Pauch, Jr. to score his third American Racing Drivers Club midget triumph of the season.
“I’m probably the most unpopular guy here,” Martin joked. “I know most of the people here wanted to see Pauch win. I know he really wanted his first win, but I have to give him credit. He really raced me clean. He could have very easily taken it from me, but he didn’t.”
Pauch finished second, while P.J. Gargiulo completed a hard drive through the field coming from 12th to finish third. A.J. Ernesto and Nick Wean filled the top five.
The finish:
Andy Martin, Billy Pauch, Jr., P.J. Gargiulo, A.J.
