DeSelle, Hess Big Winners Over Weekend

WILMOT, Wis. — Chad DeSelle edged Michael Pickens by one length to win the Salute to Harry Turner 30-lap Badger Midget Series feature Saturday night at Wilmot Speedway.
It was DeSelle’s first series feature victory since winning the Knoxville Midget Nationals on May 31, 2003.
DeSelle jumped into the lead at the start, however, three cautions for minor incidents during the first five laps kept the field bunched up.
Still, DeSelle led the full distance, with Pickens finishing second. Mike Hess, Aaron Fiscus, and Jake Slotten completed the top five.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Mike Hess took advantage of a late-race caution to claim his third Badger Midget Series feature victory of the season, capturing the 30-lap event Sunday night at Angell Park Speedway.
On a late restart, Hess passed Brandon Waelti using the high groove. Over the final four laps, Hess extended his lead, finishing 2.3 seconds ahead of Nick Lundgreen, who got by Waelti for second.
Waelti finished third and was followed by Doug Schenck and Aaron Fiscus to the line.
