Stratton And Coons Conquer Badger Midget Rivals

ANTIGO, Wis. — Danny Stratton turned in a dominating performance Saturday night, capturing the 27-lap Mole Lake Casino/Lodge Lucky 7 Badger Midget Challenge at Langlade County Speedway. The event marked the first midget race in the facility’s 45-year history.
Stratton took the lead from Davey Ray on lap 15.
Stratton, the evening's fastest qualifier, driving the Hans Lein-owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger executed perfect restarts on a pair of late-race cautions and cruised unchallenged over the final seven laps. He finished 1.72 seconds ahead of three-time series champion Scott Hatton, Ray, Brandon Waelti and New Zealand's Brad Mosen.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Jerry Coons, Jr. captured his third Badger Midget Series victory of the season Sunday night at Angell Park Speedway.
Scott Hatton quickly moved from seventh place to take the lead from Matt Smith at the completion of the second lap. Then on the restart of a lap-nine caution, Davey Ray moved around Hatton to take a turn out front.
Ray managed to hold the point until lap 17, when Coons made his move entering turn two and grabbed the point down the backstretch.
Coons was followed to the stripe by Brad Kuhn, Ray, Hatton and Ryan Durst.
