Carson's Curfew
Antioch Speedway
ANTIOCH, Calif. — Three-time Bay Cities Racing Ass’n midget champion Glenn Carson utilized wry veteran skill, poise and patience in overcoming an attrition-deprived field Saturday at Antioch Speedway.
Manning Doug Bock’s No. 26 Spike/Esslinger, Carson inherited the lead when John Sarale spun on lap 27.
With the clock tipping the 11 p.m. curfew already, officials waved the checkered flag and Carson had his first victory in eight years. Nick Foster, Jr. finished second ahead of Jimmy Christian, Floyd Alvis and Dave Stoltz.
