Shane Hmiel's return to racing after a troubled NASCAR career has landed the driver in victory lane twice in as many BCRA starts.

MADERA, Calif. —Former NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Shane Hmiel picked up his second-consecutive Bay Cities Racing Ass’n midget victory Saturday night at Madera Speedway.
Hmiel took the lead on lap 23 when Dallen McKenney slowed with mechanical trouble, and steered his No. 21 Beast-Esslinger to victory on the third-mile asphalt oval. It was his second victory in as many starts in the series.
Hmiel pulled away over the final laps of the 30-lap event, with Bobby Grewohl finishing second. Kevin Morris, Chad Nichols and Scott Nail rounded out the top five.
Michael Faccinto was the fast qualifier.
