HANFORD, Calif. — Ryan Kaplan held off Michael Faccinto in a thrilling late-race duel to win Saturday’s DMS Race Products Bay Cities Racing Ass’n Midget series feature at King’s Speedway.
Running a lightning-fast route around the high groove of the three-eighths-mile track, Kaplan moved up from his 11th-place starting spot and picked his way through the top 10 to pass Kody Swanson for the lead on lap 24.
Sixteen year old Michael Faccinto jumped into the fray and spent the next five laps swapping the lead with Kaplan and Swanson before Kaplan came back to secure the top spot with two laps to go and hold Faccinto at bay to score the victory. Defending BCRA champion John Sarale finished third, followed by C.J. Sarna and Alfred Galeridge, Jr.
